- 1 tbsp Unsalted butter or margarine
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 Onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 cans whole Peeled tomatoes
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- ground black pepper for taste
- 1 pinch Red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp Celery seed
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
Take a large saucepan and heat olive oil and butter in it on medium-low heat. Cook garlic and onion until soft and tender. Add water, tomatoes, salt, sugar, red pepper flakes, pepper, oregano, and celery seed. Boil the dish lightly. Decrease flame and simmer for 15 min after covering it.
Take it away from flame and use an immersion blender to puree. Add salt and pepper, heat soup until warm.
