So making this instant pot swiss steak is an alternate way of making an inexpensive cut of meat into a delicious steak. But this swiss steak takes a little more effort than the normal pressure cooker recipes as you can’t dump everything in this recipe.

    Ingredients-

    • Two pounds bottom round steak, trimmed and sliced into large squares
    • Half cup crushed tomatoes
    • One teaspoon sea salt
    • Two teaspoons garlic powder
    • Two tablespoons cornstarch
    • One teaspoon ground black pepper
    • Two tablespoons vegetable oil
    • Two bell peppers, seeded and diced
    • One medium white or yellow onion, peeled and diced
    • One cup low sodium beef broth

    Procedure-

    • Add garlic powder, sea salt along with black pepper on both the sides of the round steak.
    • Lightly coat it with some cornflour on both sides.
    • On the instant pot press, the saute option and after it reads hot pour the oil into it. Add the steak into the pot and let it cook on both sides till it is brown. After it is brown, remove the steak on a dish and wrap it up with aluminum foil.
    • Now add the chopped onion and pepper to it and let it cook for some time.
    • For deglazing the pot, add the beef broth to it and scrape the brown bits from the bottom.
    • After you cancel, add the steak to the pot. Then pour the leftover beef broth along with the crushed tomatoes to it. 
    • Seal the lid and turn on the pressure cooker for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, give the pressure cooker a 10-minute natural release and then cancel. After the valve usually comes to the venting position, let the remaining pressure subside.
    • Open the lid after the pin drops and remove the steak in a platter or large casserole. If you want to have a thick gravy, then let it reduce after you hit the saute button. For this mix, one tablespoon of water with one tablespoon of cornstarch. Add it to the sauce and let it thicken.
    • Add the sauce over the steak and serve this instant pot swiss steak.

    Ingredients-

    • Two pounds cube steak
    • Two tablespoons water
    • One cup of water
    • One can fire-roasted or diced tomatoes
    • Half teaspoon salt
    • One medium onion cubed
    • Half teaspoon paprika
    • One teaspoon pepper
    • Half teaspoon garlic powder
    • Four cups potatoes, cubed (optional)
    • One tablespoon cornstarch
    • One tablespoon oil

    Procedure-

    • Add the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix them well. Use this mixture to sprinkle on both sides of the steak.
    • Turn the saute mode on the pot. Add oil to it and then add the steak to it. On saute mode make sure to cook the steak on both the sides till they are brown.

    Ingredients-

    • One and a half pounds bottom round steak, 1 inch thick
    • One teaspoon paprika
    • One pinch salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
    • One teaspoon oregano
    • Two tablespoons avocado oil, divided, or as needed
    • One-fourth cup all-purpose flour
    • Half cup carrot, chopped
    • One medium onion, chopped
    • One green bell pepper, chopped
    • Half cup chopped celery
    • One tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • Two cloves garlic, finely chopped
    • Two and three fourth cups canned chopped Italian-style tomatoes
    • One fourth cup Merlot wine
    • One teaspoon salt

    Procedure-

    • Cut the steak into 4-inch pieces after patting them dry with paper towels.
    • Add the steak pieces into dry flour and remove the excess flour.
    • Turn the multifunctional pressure cooker on and select the saute function on it. After the pot becomes hot, pour avocado oil into it and brown the steaks on both sides. Let each side cook for 2 minutes each. After the steak is cooked, transfer it to a plate and cover it with aluminum foil.
    • Once again, add some avocado oil to the pot and now add the onion, carrot, celery, bell peppers until it is soft and translucent. Add the garlic to the pot and let it cook till it becomes fragrant. Add the merlot to it for deglazing it. Now add the tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, paprika, and salt. 
    • Add the steak to the pot and push it in.
    • Lock the lid after closing it. Set the timer for 30 minutes according to the manufacturer’s instructions. 
    • Let it take 10-15 minutes for pressure to build.
    • Using the natural release method release the pressure for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, release the pressure and unlock the lid.

    • 1-2 pounds skirt steak
    • Small red potatoes halved
    • Half cup fresh tomatoes diced

    • One– 28 oz can diced tomatoes

What you need to do is take out your instant pot and make this decadent instant pot swiss steak with some mushroom sauce. You won’t believe it, but the mushroom sauce just soars the dish to the next level.

    Ingredients

    To prepare the beef:

    • Two 1/4 pounds round steak (about 3/4″ thick)
    • heaping half cup flour
    • One fourth teaspoon pepper
    • Half teaspoon salt
    • Three fourth teaspoon seasoning salt

    To cook the recipe:

    • oil as needed (3 to 5 tablespoons)
    • One fourth cup Sherry 
    • One large yellow onion, vertically sliced
    • One and three fourth cups beef broth
    • 8 to 16 ounces mushrooms, sliced thickly
    • One tablespoon tomato paste

    • Now add the mushrooms along with wine and onions to it. Deglaze the pot and remove the brown bits sticking at the bottom. After the wine evaporates completely pour the beef broth, Dijon, tomato paste, salt, pepper, thyme, and parsley. Whisk it till it is thoroughly mixed.
    • Add the meat into the pot once again and turn the cancel button on after the meat pieces are submerged well in the sauces. Close the lid and using the valve seal. Use the meat function for 35 minutes, and after 35 minutes, let it release the pressure naturally. 
    • After the pressure is removed completely, remove the meat pieces in a plate, and add the cornstarch slurry into the instant pot. 
    • After the gravy thickens, add the onions and mushroom from the instant pot over the meat pieces and pour some gravy on the top. 
    • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

    Slow cooker swiss steak

    Ingredients-

    • 2.5 lbs. round steaks or bottom or top round roast cut into thick steaks 
    • Half cup flour
    • One-fourth teaspoon black pepper
    • 10.5 oz. beef broth
    • Four tablespoon cooking oil
    • 29 oz. petite diced tomatoes (two 14.5 oz. cans)
    • One green bell pepper 
    • One cup diced onion
    • Two tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • Two garlic cloves minced
    • One teaspoon salt

    Procedure-

    • Mix the flour with salt and pepper on a large dish.

    • One eighth teaspoon pepper
    • One-fourth teaspoon dried basil
    • Half cup chopped green pepper
